Roni Kelley
Training Director
Roni started working for the Texas Gulf Coast Electrical Apprenticeship Program in 2015 as an Administrative Assistant. Roni Kelley is now the Training Director for the Texas Gulf Coast Electrical JATC in which she administers registered electrical apprenticeships and continuous education for journey level workers for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 278. She responsible for the operations and management of the JATC's standards and policies to advance the program within the industry. Roni also sits on several boards to help with trades and the recruitment of trades.

Roni works closely with the JATC's apprentices and enjoys seeing the growth and development in each and every apprentice in the program.
Joe Tellez
5th Year Instructor
The Jack of all trades is what we call him! Joe started off in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1981 as an Aviation Electrician. He has attended Del Mar College, Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi and is currently working on his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and Texas A&M Kingsville. Joe is a Master Electrician, with several other degrees under his belt. He currently works for TX Dot as an Engineering Assistant. Joe has been teaching with us 2012 and is a wonderful instructor. Joe is capable of teaching all years, and currently teaches 3rd and 5th year. Joe also does tutoring, a math refresher course and Test Prep classes to help Apprentices pass their Journeyman exam.
Mike Rivera
1st Year Instructor
Mikel started the apprenticeship in 2011 and graduated in 2016. Mikel has been a journeyman for 2 years, and is going on his 2nd year of teaching with us. He is currently working on achieving his Master Electrician's license. When it comes to work Mike has done just about everything, and never says no to a challenge. He is determined and always eager to continue learning new things. Mike has taught 3rd year and will now be teaching 1st year. Mike enjotys spending tme with his family when he is not working.
Jeremy Shephard
4th Year Instructor
Jeremy has been an electrician for 26 + years. He started in the coast guard as an electricians mate, worked for a chief EM who had a electrical company. On the weekends, he worked residential , commercial, industrial and marine electrical which is were he gained a lot of his experience. In addition, he trained in motor controls , high voltage, PlC's , motor drives and much more. Jeremy also worked as a superintendent , foreman , and service technician. Jeremy enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience and believes Union electricians are highly trained and skilled, which makes them the best for any job. When he is not working or teaching Jeremy loves fly fishing.
